I keep seeing people posting about this person wearing a “Momo” mask at EDC and scaring people or trying to scare people. For those who don’t know EDC is a place where people tend to trip out. I’m not anti drug or anything but everyone is gonna get their kicks a different way.
It’s no one’s responsibility to cater to you for being on drugs and not knowing what’s real or what isn’t. Grow up and don’t expect people to cater to you and how you want to use your drugs.

No one even cares one way or the other about this opinion
If they’re intentionally doing it they’re still being an asshole. You can say they don’t have to cater to people taking psychedelics but that’s not really what people are saying. It’s just a dick move it isn’t that deep you’re allowed to be a dick but even if they weren’t tripping intentionally fucking with someone is a dick move.
The person in the momo mask is purposefully going out of their way to potentially cause harm or danger to people there. People who do that are assholes who need to stop, not the other way around lol. And this is coming from someone who’s never done any drugs. Why is that person trying to HURT people? Like???
I have no idea what you’re talking about, but you’re saying the guy wearing a mask to scare people is not responsible for scaring people?
I feel like this is more about someone intentionally trying to ruin someone’s day. Which is different. You certainly don’t need to cater to someone, but maybe also don’t be an ass. 🤷♂️
What do you say about them scaring people who ARENT tripping? Do you not think they are still being a dick?
Baba Yaga is waiting for you under your bed. Enjoy.
this is why i always ask people if they can hang now whenever i do psychedelics/dissoaciative. I don’t want to end up babysitting someone while I’m also tripping because they can’t handle it.
yeah, gonna echo the sentiment of other commentors as someone who has done drugs at concerts and has yet to have a freak out; different story when someone is intentionally going around, trying to wig people out, while knowing that folks at said event are probably doing psychedelics. that’s literally just being a dick to be a dick. like you said in your post, its no secret that a lot of folks are tripping balls at these events, but going around with the INTENTION of ruining the fun times for everyone (tripping or not) just makes you a dick. if you know you can’t handle your psychedelics or whatever while around a shit ton of people, sure, that’s more so on you. but when some rando comes up dressed like a murderer (??? i have no idea what Momo is but im assuming its sumn freaky) yeah no shit I’m gonna be more wigged out than if a person dressed in typically rave/concert/festival/whatever clothing approached me. sounds like you just might be one of those people.
Wait why are they the problem and not the person wearing the mask?
This is true, but it’s also akin to going to a bar and not drinking.
You’re not talking about just not catering to people though, you’re talking about going out of one’s way to harm people. Those aren’t at all the same thing.
Not really though, if someone is going around scaring people, they are responsible for people getting scared, drugs are irrelevant there.
It’s no one’s responsibility to cater to you for being on drugs and not knowing what’s real or what isn’t.
Yeah no, this logic only applies to people getting freaked out by standard human behaviour.
You’re specifically talking about a guy trying to scare people in a setting known for recreational drug use.
Yes, you can avoid that happening by not taking drugs. By the same token, you could advise women who don’t want to have their drinks spiked and taken advantage of not to go out drinking.
The guy is a colossal prick and victim blaming doesn’t change that.

Also, don’t drink too much. There’s a few concerts that I wish I had not drink so much because I missed on the experience. I specially regret one time my roommate surprised me with tickets to my favorite musician in this small club where I had planned to meet and greet and get autographs and all. I didn’t drink but my friend did and I had to leave early because I had to take him home. I was so mad, yet I couldn’t say anything because he paid for the tickets.

I have no Idea what a “Momo” mask is but if you are intentionally trying to scare someone do not be suprised if they hurt you and they are right to defend themselves against a percived attack.
I know a dude that was a pretty regular guy that did a really bad acid trip once. He’s got the mentality of a child now. He couldn’t even hold down a job as a cart pusher.
Drugs or not, dressing up specifically to scare others is just dumb. You are entirely responsible for anyone you scare while trying to willfully scare someone, yes.
A reasonable adult would know this.
Oddly specific.
So for those who have no context… here you go it’s the only post with a pic I can find.
I feel like people have forgotten this gif

Because this is a sober kid getting surprised by someone in a mask. It’s not drugs making someone afraid of a sudden stranger in a mask.
But it is the mask wearers fault if they get knocked out
But the dude who was there to mess up everyone’s vibes is fine, right? You don’t have to be on drugs to be scared of some random wearing a momo mask acting weird.. tons of people sober and not were bothered that night
Being scared isn’t fun if you aren’t on drugs either… But if you are, I imagine it seems reasonable to acceot the plausibility of a bad trip.
But drugs are the only way to have a good time
That stuff isn’t my scene so take it with a grain of salt, but it seems to me that, while it isn’t fair or reasonable to expect people to cater to your experience, it’s also a pretty dick move if someone is going out of their way to scare people or make them uncomfortable. Hell, even sober I would not be super thrilled about someone I don’t know in a mask getting up in my face to try and freak me out.
Rave Momo is the shit, I’m so pissed I didn’t see him at Beyond. I was out of my mind and that shit would’ve made me piss myself laughing.
My wife likes EDC. Not a huge fan of the music scene myself, but its ok. I’ll go w/ her and her friends so they can trip, and I stay sober and kinda watch out for them/vibe at the shows. The visuals/production levels are crazy so I do enjoy myself sober.
Anyway point being, why did this not happen at the EDC I went to. Unless said person was a female…goddam it’s like a weird fantasy for me to be able to just stick some creepy dbag in the face at those things. Like if im being honest it’s part of the reason I stay sober. No one hit this person who was allegedly assaulting people?
I dont know, its not hard to not be an intentional dickhead buddy. Just because someone gets kicks out of being a dickhead doesnt mean they dont get shamed or consequences from it lmao.
Victim blaming, “getting kicks” at the expense of others comfort and safety isn’t the same as getting your kicks taking lsd.
I remember being 16. Those were the days..
Fucking no. The assholes scaring people should grow the fuck up.
This is like saying that when a bully makes a paper bag explode next to you to scare you then it’s YOUR fault for getting scared and should grow a “thicker skin”.
Lol how about the guy in mask (which is there to explicitly be a douche and scare people it sounds) is the one who should f off?
This isn’t catering, this is about not letting dick heads get away with it
