If you were to cook a steak well done and leave it out in the wilderness, would the carnivores eat it?

    Depends but generally yes

  2. lynivvinyl Avatar

It would get eaten by something but they wouldn’t enjoy it.

  3. CuriousBingo Avatar

    They’d send it back.

  4. Commercial_Tough160 Avatar

    They eat carrion. So yes.

Cover it with ketchup and even a dementia-addled narcissist megalomaniac might eat it.

  5. KateCSays Avatar

Of course. If the scavengers didn’t find it first. Why wouldn’t they? That’s good protein, free for the taking.

As long as you leave a bottle of A1.

  7. morose4eva Avatar

With some carnivores, I think it would depend on how hungry they are.

  8. hatred-shapped Avatar

Yes. If you did it often enough for the same animal it may stop eating raw meat.

  9. NortonBurns Avatar

Would your dog eat leftover cooked steak?
    Yes.
    So will other carnivores.

  10. Responsible-Kale-904 Avatar

Of Course “Our President” would eat it, if you put ketchup on it!!

  11. Alarming-Tradition40 Avatar

Absolutely. You could cook it to drier than leather and something would still eat it.

  12. Busy_Donut6073 Avatar

Most likely. I don’t think many animals in the wild would turn down food that seems safe to eat. Some will even try food that is questionable

  13. ChameleonParty Avatar

Cooked steak is easier to digest and release energy from. If they were able to cook it themselves, I suspect they would.

  14. old3112trucker Avatar

Not if I find it first.

  15. Ignoble66 Avatar

possums and raccoons will eat anything

  16. Guillotine-Wit Avatar

    Without ketchup?

Probably, but they wouldn’t like it.

  17. Embarrassed_Flan_869 Avatar

Are you going to put out a nice glass of red wine too? If not, you’re a monster.

  18. Preemptively_Extinct Avatar

Carnivores, maybe, maybe not. Some won’t eat it if they didn’t kill it.

  19. Status-Biscotti Avatar

Absolutely. My cat can smell cooking meat from across the house.

  20. tioLechuga Avatar

if they add some old expired A1 in the back of the fridge… yes.

  21. Junkateriass Avatar

They would eat a well done pile of vomited up intestines, so I’m pretty sure they’d eat the steak, but I could be wrong, I guess

  22. demonic-lemonade Avatar

My cat likes to eat tomato sauce and mashed potatoes so yes I think so

  23. cwthree Avatar

Wild animals will eat darn near anything if they’re hungry enough. Domestic dogs and cats will eat fully- cooked meat without hesitation.

Oh yeah some carnivore or scavenger would come along and eat it in a heart beat.

There’s actually evidence that animals prefer their food cooked too, they just don’t have a way to do it.

Scavengers like coyotes and vultures are usually some of the first animals to return to an area after a wildfire. They’re looking for the same thing many of us are: an easy, pre-cooked meal.

  26. bran_the_man93 Avatar

    Why would they not?

  27. DecentCheesecake9321 Avatar

What kinda question is this? Wild animals will even eat rotting meat

  28. Szarvaslovas Avatar

Yes, absolutely. Most animals even prefer cooked meat to raw, they just usually don’t get a choice.

  29. phantom_gain Avatar

Absolutely. Probably within a few minutes.

This challenges the whole nature of this sub. I’m at a loss.

I wouldn’t serve a well done steak to my worst enemy let alone innocent animals.
