If you‘re attracted to anthropomorphic animals, you are attracted to animals and I don‘t trust you around them.

Ok so I am walking on very thin ice for this. This post isn‘t meant to kink-shame anyone and I need to mention that this is written purely out of ignorance – I can’t look into people‘s heads so I can’t really assume shit. This is just what I think makes the most sense

I‘ve had an argument with a friend about this recently. Showed him a picture of a girl in full cat paws, a realistic cat head and other features. I think if you want your girl to dress up like that to get your thing going, there is at least some part of you that is attracted to animals. I can’t think of another reason as to why one would PREFER to imagine sexual intercourse with something that has more animal-like features than human features. If you can look into the eyes of a CAT HEAD and continue having sex with whoever‘s wearing I‘m sorry but you‘re cooked. At least a little bit.
My friend insists that being attracted to stuff like that (including full animal suits or pictures of literal cartoon animals whose only human feature is standing on two legs) has nothing to do with zoophilia or being attracted to animals. I disagree. I think those people might just be in denial of having zoophilia and get their fix from two legged creatures just to feel better about themselves.

1-dont do it as a kink, thats more of a loud minority
2-the ones that do are fully divorced from the idea that they are pretending to be/fuck an actual animal

We live in a time where there is no clear distinction between sexual freedom and pathological perversion, no matter what psychologists say, so yeah… You are entitled to that stance.

But like… don’t they usually also talk? And have a personality? I think that’s what people tend to be attracted to with those characters.

You know “antho” means humanlike right?

Alright, let’s clear this up because your take is pretty off the mark, tbh…

First things first: anthropomorphic characters and real animals are not the same… You’re mixing up attraction to characters that have human traits (like thinking, talking, expressing complex emotions, standing upright) but look like animals, with attraction to actual, non-human animals. They are fundamentally different. The appeal for most is to the human-like qualities, the personality, or the unique aesthetic/fantasy, not to the ‘animal’ part in a way that means they want to get with your pet.

Secondly, it’s about FANTASY, NOT bestiality. Liking someone in a cat costume or enjoying art of a character that’s half-human, half-animal is about attraction to a person playing a role, a fictional character, or a specific fantasy aesthetic. It’s not about secretly wanting to have sex with a literal cat. The “cat head” on a human body is still a human in a costume representing a character.

Zoophilia is a SPECIFIC thing (and this ain’t it for most). Zoophilia is attraction to actual animals. Liking a cartoon wolf that talks and acts like a person, or appreciating a detailed fursuit, doesn’t make someone a zoophile or “in denial” of it. That’s a serious accusation you’re throwing around based on a misunderstanding.

The attraction isn’t just to “animal features” in a void. It’s usually to how those features are combined with a humanoid form, mind, and personality.
Basically, you’re oversimplifying a complex type of attraction by incorrectly equating fictional, human-like animal characters with a desire for real animals. They’re not the same, and most people who are into this stuff draw a very clear line, and you’re nobody to say or pretend that this line doesn’t exist…

So, get schooled before making accusations on minorities. Learn about the phenomenon, before contributing to infecting the Internet with ignorance…

So what’s the difference between an unpopular opinion and a stupid opinion that comes from being ill-informed?

Ummm, are we out here trusting furries? All the ones I’ve met are real fringe (and cringe). But who knows, maybe you meet twenty furries, they’re all weird, but you just haven’t met the “right” ones yet?

I’ve literally never seen a furry costume that has made me think “wow, that sure is a realistic looking dog”.
