Media doesn’t portray your dog meeting another dog and having a fun playtime. It doesn’t show you meeting your partner and the two of you having this nice date. And it certainly does not show your hangout with your friends watching a great movie and having a good time.
The world seems fucked. And it is in a way. It was a lot more fucked 80 years ago and yet we exist today. Your microcosm of life is 100% worth living, but it’s up to you to make it worthy.
In terms of freedom, no it won’t get better for most. But you’re wasting your teenage years, when you’re still allowed to live relatively carefree and without huge pressing responsibilities, sulking over god-knows-what.
In 10 or 20 years you’ll have to make ends meet, possibly taking care of a family of your own, tackling responsibilities or deadlines on your job that will make highschool look like kindergarden.
The upside is that you’ll have a say in everything about your life, hopefully financial independence and even stability. But again it comes with a caveat: nobody’ll do things for you, so it’ll be up to you and you only (well, mostly).
So yeah, it does get better the moment you decide to make it so. Seek help because barring some serious disabilities or harsh living conditions, there’s no valid reason to feel you’re done for at 15.
Depends. In my case, no. The problems I had at 15 don’t even seem like problems now that I think about it. I’d love to go back to that. But I can’t, and that’s life. Some people lead better lives. It depends on you and your circumstance.
Yeah, it can get better. I felt way happier in my 20s than in my teens. Other that my family, which was ok, my teen years were pretty crappy, from getting bullied at school, to having no social life, to having no money for anything, to having to constantly study. My 20s were a lot better in thse areas – no more bulling, more freedom, better social life, more money since I got a job, actually traveling and doing stuff, more self confidence. I wouldn’t wanna go back to my teens even if you paid me.
Yes, it most certainly gets better. As you grow older, you gain more freedom and the ability to make your own decisions about your life. High school can be a struggle, with its externally imposed requirements and limited alternatives, as well as the constraints of your social environment and place of residence. But as you mature, everything begins to change.
Moreover, you come to understand that it is your responsibility to create a life worth living. There is no universal answer handed to you .it’s something you discover and build for yourself.
When i was a teenager my life was shit, i had no friends, i was super depressed, had a mild eating disorder, i was terrible at school and my home life was hell.
I BARLEY passed year 12, got my license a few months after graduating and then moved state.
My life instantly got better, and now i’m as happy as ever. Sometimes depression comes from circumstances, but you are so young you have so much time to change them.
Some people’s best years are high school, and for some reason that is shouted from the roof tops so if you’re having a bad time it can feel like life is already over. Highschool was the worst years of my life and the second i became an independent adult my life became beautiful.
Do you have hobbies? Things you want to do? Good you want to cook? A few hours of peace away from family? Guess what? you can do whatever you want when you’re an adult and live by yourself.
If you’re struggling with school, look into a trade – they make insane money.
15 is way too young to feel like life’s over, you’ve barely lived. Once you finish you’ll realise very quickly how it doesn’t matter and you’ve got your entire life a head of you.
Yes! It gets way better. I did not enjoy being a teenager at all. My 20s were much better. My 30s were even better. People in their 40s tell me they’re great. So yeah. Hang in there and find some things you enjoy doing to get through to the better parts.

Depends on what you mean as “better”.
