I’ve struggled with insomnia since I was 5 years old. I used to lie awake at night and wonder whether people were having fun without me. Now, after struggling through school, working swing and night shifts as a CNA, I am a housewife with a part time evening job at a wedding venue and keep finding weird things about living life on a different schedule than the rest of the world. Might seem a little boring to some people, but my family always has a lot of questions about it!

What makes a good night sleep for you ? Like how?
I’m an insomniac as well. I prefer to work overnights foe this reason and if I have to be awake between say 7am and noon, I have a hard time.
When do you and your SO spend time together?
What do the doctors say?
Would you go out say to the bar without your SO to try and unwind to see if a couple of drinks might help?
For the last 20 years or so, I’ve averaged 4-5 hours sleep and sometimes less. Now into my mid 40s, my body is starting to show all the signs of “I’ve fucked up my body.” So, now, it is 11.00 pm at the latest and I am off to bed. Doctor’s order. lol.
Not only do I feel better, I have lost a bit of weight just because I do get my 6-7 hours sleep. Why didn’t I do this earlier, I do not know. You sleep debt will only come to haunt you later in life.
Realistically how many hours of sleep are you getting? What drugs gave you tried?
