As a disclaimer, by pro-hunting I mean I support people who choose to do that (legally and responsibly of course) but I’ve never been hunting myself so can’t answer any questions about personal experience.
Edit: I don’t know about different parts of the world but where i’m from, hunting is not very common, hightly restricted by the law and A LOT more controversial than in places like the USA. If you don’t feel like this post is worth commenting on, it’s okay to keep scrolling

Do you support hunting because of factory farms and cruelty?
What is your attitude towards vegans and veganism?
Why are you pro-hunting? Do you support only the sport? Or do you also support people eating what they kill?
I don’t think that so wild – we’ve created a situation where animals would overpopulate and many would starve to death if we didn’t control the population. Why did you think this was a noteworthy take?
Are you just selfish hoping to kill off grazing animals to keep all the grass for yourself?
So… Family that hunts? Friends? What lead to this?
You spelt attention seeker wrong
As a responsible hunter, I apricate your point of view.
Why did you feel this was interesting enough for an ama?
Ok. Here’s my question – Why even post this?
I am a firearm enthusiast who doesn’t hunt at all. I’m not against it,I just think it’s boring and time consuming. I’d rather punch paper at 1000 yards.
I agree with it when it’s done respectfully and not for sport, it has to be done for certain communities who will use the whole animal e.g byson they will use the pelt for clothes or bedding, the meat for feeding the tribe, the bones as broth and for feeding dogs, and the rest as compost for crops.
Do you “get” that with such high populations that industrial agriculture is necessary and that hunting would be unsustainable for the same population count? I do understand that there is a glut in certain sectors and a deficit in others.
I feel the same way. I eat a mostly plant based diet but if a friend got himself a deer, I would eat that venison. Anything wild caught is way better than factory farm raised. The reasoning is that I’m not anti meat, I’m more anti corporate farming.
A lot of Americans vegetarian and non vegetarian have taken this stance. Hunting is good for a lot of things. Also you may not know that the majority (and I mean majority) of funding for our national, federal, state, parks, and anything regarding wildlife conservation, is paid for by hunters, through the pitman act. The Pitman Act was created by hunters and most hunters are happy to pay those taxes.
