I’m at a loss.

This account is a burner.

But I’m a single mom and I just started a new job but my first payday isn’t until next Friday and I can’t get help from her father. The DHS office and health department told me they don’t keep diapers to give out on the premises. My town has two churches and neither have called me back. I don’t know what to do,my recent court fees and other expenses in my divorce took all my savings I don’t know what to do now or where to turn for help. I don’t want my child to do without. I have two diapers left. Please does anyone have an idea I’m not thinking of?

    Look for Catholic Charities

The dollar store sells diapers. They aren’t the best quality but they get the job done. Best of luck!

Google women’s help center in your area or a PACN store in your area

If they have a Women’s shelter in your town, Reach out to them. They always have all the necessities in stock.

Churches are always the best resource for mothers in need. Search out local churches and call them.

Try your local buy nothing group on Facebook.

I’d hate to ask myself, but maybe a local fb trading post? There will definitely be a mom out there willing to help. They’ve probably been there themselves.

Do you have any receiving blankets or flour sack towels in your house? And access to a washer? They can work as a cloth diaper in a pinch. You need something to go over them to make them water proof. Fleece pajama pants would work. If that is something that’s a possibility for you, send me a message and I will give you a crash course in cloth diapers. Also if you’re near st louis I have some cloth diapers you could have. Feel free to reach out. I’d also check with local mom Facebook groups. Reach out to the admins and ask if they know of any resources. The MomCo (formerly MOPS) might have some resources as well. Try to find a local chapter of the organization.

What area are you in? You might have a diaper bank

If you have a crisis pregnancy center in your area, a lot of them give out diapers, but they will have hoops to jump through.

Sometimes, food pantries will have diapers. Ours has a rotation amongst all the churches in our small town, and we keep it pretty well stocked with diapers & wipes.

Check a buy nothing group or fb marketplace and ask. A lot of people have a few left from a pack when their baby outgrows them. You can’t really donate a handful of loose diapers anywhere, but I always felt bad tossing them, so I usually had a few random ones laying around until I would find someone to give them to

Diaper bank. In my town there is a diaper bank that gives out diaper and sometimes other things to those in need.

A lot of organizations that might be in your area are listed but I didn’t see the Salvation Army. Check with them if you have one nearby.

Hope things get better for you!
