I work in the Print and Marketing department of a certain office supply store and the sheer amount of customers that I get who cant follow basic instructions… many of which who own and run businesses, just… oh boy.
Like for example. We have a self service machine you can use to copy, scan, print, or fax. The VERY FIRST screen says “Tap anywhere to get started” and that screen alone stops a good chunk of people. They just stare, not sure what to do.
The next screen shows you four columns. Copy. Print. Scan. Fax. A good chunk of people also get stuck on that one. If you want to copy, select copy. If you want to fax, select fax.
I’m not kidding when I say that one time I had a couple select Copy, the machine jammed so I went over to help, and when I asked how many copies they needed they said they didnt need copies but were needing to fax. So I told them that to fax they need to select the fax option. “They should make that more obvious.”
How?! Like genuinely, how??? How can that be made any more clear?????
