My husband bought a car and the person who sold it to him already signed the title to hand over the vehicle. Huge problem. How do we go about fixing this issue?
Edit for more info: We are in VA and the owner of the vehicle was in NC. We have to have a notary witness our signatures but since he already signed it it’s still his technically.

I’m not sure what the issue is. When you sell a car, you sign the title to transfer it. Can you be more clear on the issue?
