Is it bad that I’ll probably still be buying a nintendo switch 2?

So for the people who don’t know why this would be bad, it’s been revealed that the base price for the switch 2 is 470 euros (450 dollars, but im European), and the games are also getting a price increase. The new mario kart is gonna be sold for 80 bucks, (And people are saying thats only the price for the digital version, and that the physical version will be 90, but Ive also heard that theres actually no official source for that claim? So I’m not sure if that is true.). Though the new donkey kong game is going to be 70, so I’m guessing most games will be 70, and the big releases will be 80.

And as you can guess, people are upset. And no, not even the nintendo fanboys (which I am definitely part of) are taking the news well or are trying to defend them. I, and everyone else, think it’s insane for the prices to jump like this. Yes, I get it, through inflation and stuff, it’s actually not that much, but people are also rightfully pointing out that their salaries are not keeping up with inflation. So people are mad.

But then it’s also like… Damn, I really want the switch 2. Those games look so damn good, I want the new open world mario kart, I want the new kirby air riders, I want the (seemingly) open world donkey kong with destructible terrain. And like I said, I’m still a nintendo fanboy, I grew up with them, and these game series mean so much to me. (And the other business practices of theirs are a story for another day, I still criticize nintendo for that, but I am trying to see the legal parts of nintendo and the game making parts as separate.)

And I’m in a situation where the money isn’t that much of an issue for me, I’m young, I still live with my parents, I can just get a part time job to earn more money, on top of my savings which, while not extensive by any means, are more than enough for me to purchase it and not have any real problems with my day to day life.

I understand this is also coming from a place of privilege, since I recognize I’m in a spot where I can buy it, it’s just up to my choice. But for a lot of people, they just straight up can not afford it with their financial situation.

So would it be bad if I bought a switch 2? I really really want it, but I don’t want to feel like I’m turning my back and the rest of the community. By buying a console, aren’t I basically condoning their business practices? I don’t want to, but that damn Kirby Air Riders is calling my name.
