is it okay to occupy a space in a (almost empty) restaurant for a while to eat my own food without ordering anything?

is it okay to go sit inside a restaurant/cafe for a while (like an hour+) without ordering a single thing but instead eating my own packed meal and then leaving (without paying since i didn’t order anything). context: the restaurant is not crowded at all, there are several empty tables. i am sitting a corner minding my own business not disturbing any customers or staff, not making a mess or calling attention to myself. simply occupying a seat for a while, to have my meal and then leaving the restaurant. is this morally and ethically acceptable to use the restaurant space as someone who is not a paying customer?

If the restaurant is ok with it than you are golden.

No. Most establishments won’t let you do this as their space is meant for customers. You could try a library or other public space though

    No. Not at all.

Not cool. The restaurant exists to make money for its owners and employees. Not to provide free seating for the general public
