I have an old UK phone number that has been disconnected over the past couple of years. It’s currently unused and I wonder if anyone knows if there is a way to request a specific number?
Does anyone in the industry have any knowledge of this and what carriers would support it?

Number blocks get assigned to different providers so depends who owns the block your number belongs to. For instance even though I’m currently with EE, if you pop my number on https://numberspy.co.uk and scroll down to about the middle it’ll tell you my block belongs to O2 because that’s who I had my first contract with.
So once you check your number on that website then you’ll need to contact the network to see if they’d let you have but I’d say it’s unlikely. If you’re lucky you can buy it.
