I’m 18M and this one guy at my school (18M) is just so mmmf. Like he annoys the hell out of me and picks on me sometimes but when I see him reading, being serious or doing something he’s interested in I get butterflies. I wouldn’t call us friends, we’re like really friendly acquaintances. Whenever he gives me a genuine smile and I swear my heart stops. I wouldn’t really call it picking on me, he’s just messing around. Like he would slam his locker door really loud (are lockers are right next to each other) and he knows it annoys me but he does it anyway. I find it pretty cute when I’m done being pissed.
I really just want advice on whether or not it I should ask him out. I’m don’t think he’s straight he might be pan, I heard a rumor that he dated his best friend (M) last year but it could be just a rumor. We have two classes together and sit fairly close (one of the periods we sit next to each other, and the other one we’re in the same desk group).

it’s not weird at all, sometimes the annoying ones are lowkey the most magnetic. If the vibe feels flirty and you’re getting hints he might not be straight, shoot your shot, start with something chill like hanging out outside of class first and see where it goes.
Ensure your safety. If you’re in a community that is supportive that’s great but otherwise don’t risk things if you’re unsure.
Otherwise sure, but if it ends messy it’ll be awkward having lockers next to each other.
