I (21f) have been dating Aaron (22M) for a year as of Tuesday. Last week I was out of town and as it was the 4th of July here in the USA my boyfriend threw a party at his house I obviously didn’t go to. The next day he was really off and glazed over the details of the night/party. When I got back he was so loving and attentive, more so than before I left. I had a really bad gut feeling, one I’ve never had before, because when I would ask for details of the night he was so weird about it.
Today I was queuing up songs in the car on his phone and snooped. We were driving back from a wedding with his family about 3 hours away so I was sitting in the back with his brother. When I looked I didn’t see anything so I felt slightly better but I thought I would check one more place, his messages with one of his best friends that’s in town, thinking I would just see guy talk or something. He said “Meet me in the bathroom in 5min for a good time. Don’t tell anyone 😘” and another conversation on Snapchat from 2 weeks prior of aaron saying “you have a very nice ass” and “speaking of hard” to which his friend followed up with “I’ll be down in 2 weeks. I’m hard” and aaron saying “send a pic or it didn’t happen😌”. The rest of the conversation was hard to follow as you could tell only certain messages were saved, which made me more suspicious.
When I confronted him about it later he said they just text like that, that he messages all of his friends like that, and he’s not sleeping with him, but since I left he hasn’t messaged or called me since. I can’t tell if I’m crazy or not. We’ve explicitly had conversations before about our sexualities and have said that we are both straight.
Btw before anyone freaks out, he and I have an open phone policy and have looked through each other’s phones before just out of curiosity.
Please tell me if i’m reading too far into things or not.
TL;DR : My “straight” boyfriend has what looks to be spicy messages with his guy friend and told me I’m being crazy because that’s just how they message.
