Today because my AC hasn’t been working for over two months and i live in a blaring hot state where it gets 100+ degrees i went to go get a portable one from the front office as my apartment reached 90 degrees and has been for the past two months and this is the first time they’ve offered a temporary solution. My mom is requesting they take that payment off the rent (ac not working) and then she will pay it, well today when i picked up my AC they handed me a late payment statement followed up by MANY snarky comments about how making a late payment doesn’t effect maintenance (it’s been two months). I live in student housing and went to go pick up my ac with a few friends and he made it very obvious he was handing me a late payment packet by saying it out loud multiple times and making a few rude remarks and took a picture of it for some reason?? I informed my mom in my daily update call and she immediately called and asked to speak to a supervisor for his unjustified behavior to do that in front of everyone and being rude about it. Is this reasonable or dramatic??

She seems reasonable to me. Two months is possibly even illegal depending on your states laws. Good for her for standing up and not letting your landlord get away with this.
It’s a dick move but she’s definitely going full Karen. This is your place of living it’s not her place to step in.
Not dramatic. He was unprofessional, rude, and tried to publicly shame you. Your mom was right to call it out.
