I’m not planning on acting on this advice for various reasons, but I am curious so I thought I’d ask.

If, say, my dad choked me when I was 10, and, say, my mom choked me when I was 22, is there a difference in how those are seen by the law, and is it different because I am their child, both in terms of when it happened when I was a kid, and when it happened when I was an adult? Because it wasn’t repeated (at least, not more than a couple times) and there was no damage, would it be considered actionable in either case?

If my words come across as confusing, here’s what I mean:
– Is there a difference in how legal this is between me being a kid and me being an adult
– Is there a difference in how legal this is between me being a child related to them versus if I were a child not related to them
– Is there a difference in how legal this is between me being an adult related to them versus if I were an adult not related to them
– Because there is no damage and this isn’t a repeated issue for the most part, does it even matter (applied to all the questions above, as well)

Sorry if this is hard to read, tired asf right now and probably not in the mental state to be writing anything
