I have been NC with my mom for 1.5 years, before that 1 year with a few months of normal contact in between. As an effect, my stepdad, sister and brother have cut me off since I’m not speaking to my mom. I feel uncomfortable and tend to ruminate on my family situation a few hours per week, sometimes a lot more if I get a card or something from them. I wonder if being LC would ease my ‘guilt’ and let me have more peace? I feel scared to be in public in town for fear I’ll see one of them. I have 2 small kids who I need to protect. To everyone else, they are nice and successful people. But to me, as their ‘scapegoat’, they are terrible. My mom told me she intends to turn my kids against me.
Under LC, I would do maybe 1 visit every quarter, so 4 visits per year. I would attend family events like my sisters kids birthdays and stuff.
Knowing how terribly they’ve treated me, it makes my stomach turn to even think how it would be to attend these things or see them again. I just want to have peace of mind somehow. Has anyone done LC and had it work out? Or is this just something I have to work through while being NC?

If she has stated that she plans to turn your children against you, then there should be absolutely zero contact between you. If you see them in a public place, you leave. If they try to follow you, call the police. Do not give her the chance.
