I just turned 70 last month and have wanted a Rolls Royce Silver Cloud since I was in my 30’s. Still dont own one probably never will. What is your treasured possession that you still haven’t purchased?

Mine was a mid-70’s VW Bus.
Also a car – a Porsche 914. Not expensive, but also not practical by any means lol
an isolated cabin in the woods
61F, 1956 Ford Thunderbird, robins egg blue sigh. It’s not going to happen but it was always nice to dream.
Mine(60f) is a horse.
A cranky loud pinball machine from the 60’s and I’m gonna get 1 or 2 this year
What I’ve wanted since I moved in alone 22 years ago… a new kitchen. Unfortunately I couldn’t do it
Got an airplane last year. That’s it for me.
Honestly? I have more than I possibly could have imagined. If there was something back in the day, it’s long forgotten.
A contrabass saxophone. They run over $30,000 (more than I’ve ever paid for a car), are completely useless for playing in a concert band, weigh a lot, don’t fit in a car trunk, and take up as much space as a small sofa. I want one anyway.
E type Jaguar. Mk 2.
Lincoln Continental a la The Lincoln Lawyer. A really big one.
Red sports car for my mid life crisis. But I’m way past that now! Oh and a metal detector.
A cabin in the middle of nowhere
A house.
Always wanted a dachshund be things were never right to take care of it properly.
I have two horses. No kids and no interest in shopping or going out, so I’m able to scrape together enough to afford them. They make me incredibly happy.
Waterfront property.
A Lincoln MKZ. I fell in love when they first came out.. Any year, any color. In my lifetime I have bought vehicles for my kids, my spouse as well as my parents. I have never went to a dealer to buy a car just for myself. Ever. But if I ever did, it would be an MKZ, my dream car.
An Aston Martin Vanquish.
a beach house where i can walk or ride my bike to the beach
An orange Kubota tractor with a mower and a backhoe. I know- it’s not something unattainable, but we have a disabled adult son and his needs have always come first, as it should be.
’74 javelin sst.
A house on the coast. Can afford it, but easier to rent one for a week, month. No ownership hassles, bad neighbors, insurance, taxes.
A McIntosh sound system with Klipschorn speakers.
Van Cleef and Arpel necklace, Chanel bag.
A horse
Just having my own place would be nice
I have always wanted to build my own house. Other girls dream of their weddings when they are young. Me? Floor plans and room colors. Sadly, I’m probably too old to do that now. I tried to get my husband to agree to it the last time we were house-hunting, but the man has zero ability to envision how something can look or function, so I was never able to get him on board.
A hidden fallout shelter that spans an acre underground.
A home to leave to my son. You have to have money for that, however
A large enough lot for a small inground swimming pool and a VW type camper.
An RV
As a kid, I always wanted a dog. Unfortunately, at this point in my life, I don’t have the time to take care of a dog. I’ll may be able to get a doggie later in life.
A skeeball machine.
Late 1970s Mercedes Benz 450SL. I did get an E series sedan, but it wasn’t the dream. I remember seeing it brand new in the showroom in high school. Sigh…
That Gibson Hummingbird guitar
A small cottage on the Chesapeake Bay!
Helicopter, and I can afford one. Partner says I am too old to fly.
A small house in a quiet neighborhood.
Popiel pasta maker
One of those mega massage chairs you only get to sit on when at a furniture store!
In adulthood I’ve wanted lots of things I haven’t yet bought, like a Craftsman-style tiny house and a Sprinter caravan RV.
But when I was a young teenager, I wanted diamond drop earrings: a full karat. And a 14kt gold charm bracelet that I could fill with charms.
A house for my mom. We moved around a lot when I was little, and now she lives in a condo near me and my family. If I got THE job tomorrow, I’d save up to buy her condo for her so she’d feel secure. My family prefers apartment living anyway, so I think it’s a sensible investment in addition to the dream fulfillment.
I’ve always thought it would be nice to own a senator. The conservative ones were pretty cheap for a while. But, now you can buy unaccountable Presidents; more expensive, yes, but it makes a senator seem like a poor value.
There’s lots of things I wanted but never got. None of them would have made me any happier.
The only thing would be a waterfront home with a boat hanging out back. Throughout the years I have had a lot of hobbies and done a lot of cool things. I have a great wife, nice house, a couple of nice guitars and a 18-ft boat we can take out on the bay. It took us a while to get here. It is weird that when you finally get to the point you can afford a lot more things you stop wanting most of them.
A home
A Vespa scooter-don’t have the balance or coordination for one.
I always wanted a Ford Model A, and I finally got one. It stopped running, and I couldn’t figure out what was wrong. I sold it at a loss, and the new owner told me it was sediment in the gas tank. He cleaned it out and it ran fine.
With the proceeds of the Model A sale, I bought a 1969 MGB, and I’ve been working on it for months. It should finally be ready to run this summer.
I’m now looking at Model T Fords as well.
A several foot tall section of an amethyst geode. I could afford it now but don’t really have a place to put it, and we’re downsizing further in another year or so anyway.
A winning (big) lottery ticket
Vacation home/condo in Vermont.
My Dad owned a Bentley. An albatross around his neck. Drove it a few times, then spent $$$ maintaining it. I wonder who owned who….
A hearse
A beach house! I would love to have a vacation spot where my family could come to!
A house with hidden passages in it like a Scooby Doo episode.
Corvette. Never gonna get one but been thinking about it for 55 years
A small farm somewhere that the humidity isn’t trying to kill me.
An old jeep wrangler, the kind w9th the plastic zipper windows and no frills.
But those goddamned rubber duck jeep people ruined the idea for me. Now I’m going to live in an old home far enough off the main road to need a golf cart or something to drive my elderly dog to the mailbox and back. So maybe the duck people did me a solid.
A Murphy Bed built into the wall.
House with a doggy door and a yard
A Bed and Breakfast with a lot of land to have horses, trails, and secluded cabins.
A vintage convertible. Would love an alpha Romeo Spyder, a Triumph Spitfire or an MG.
I have always wanted plastic surgery to ‘fix’ all the things I hated about myself at different ages. Closest I came was going to a botox party several years ago (it didn’t help).
Happiness.
A Mercedes Benz. I drove one in 1982 and fell in love with it. Any Mercedes will do. I could have bought one the last time I bought a car, but I just can’t give up having something that I can haul stuff in.
I think I’m ready now because I’m not hauling stuff anymore. I’m gonna go get me a Mercedes Benz. God knows I deserve it.
A nice body. At this point it would cost a fortune 😒
An in ground pool with a slide.
The Chocolate river in that Wonka movie
A shrubbery. Very nice and not too expensive
A 1965 impala SS convertible.
The Barbie Dreamhouse. 😂
I’ve always wanted a house with a fireplace. Fifth house, still no fireplace.
I’d like a Ducati. If I had garage space I’d definitely own the reddest, loudest, sexiest Duc I could get my hands on.
A longarm quilting machine with computerized pantogram
A 1967 Volkswagen beetle
I’m okay with my success in life. I have an espresso maker and a pellet ice maker. As long as we have water, coffee beans and electricity, I’ll be okay.
1971 Mustang Mach I
A little Red Corvette
A motorcycle. First, my mom said a motorcycle was too dangerous. Then my wife said they were too dangerous. Now my kids say they are too dangerous.
I have everything I need and loads of things I want. My latest material object fever dream is a concert grand pedal harp. Lots of gold leaf, gorgeous flowery inlays, the works! Sigh.
Inground heated swimming pool.
When I was about 13 I walked past a garage which had a red Lamborghini in it. I looked at it and said “I’ll know I’ve succeeded when I’ve got one”. Now retired, I look at my life – my beautiful family, life partner, our home, our garden… sure we have had down times, and I doubt those times are over, but wow we have been so blessed so far. Bugger the Lamborghini – as measures of success go, I was sooo wrong! These days, if I suddenly came in to a trillion dollars, I’d rather solve homelessness than get a Lamborghini.
For me, it’s a baby grand. I don’t play well enough to justify it and the small townhome I live in now couldn’t hold it so those are my excuses.😊
A supreme court justice.
A Brownstone
A house of my own!
I bought my dream home a long time ago. gorgeous with panoramic views.
Sold it cause too much maintenance. I find purchases never give lasting satisfaction for me. So decided just to retire early and live a moderate lifestyle (with vacations still, just not expensive ourchases). best decision
A 1971 porsche targa.
A house, all rooms on the ground floor, with a wheelchair ramp and a hospital type adjustable bed so I can bring my dying adult son home. I’m 70 now so people available I could hire for heavy lifting, lawn mowing and that sort of thing. Since I’m dreaming big there would also be green grass, room for a garden or a large sunny porch for container planting.
A grand piano. Not a concert size, but a really good baby grand. I play kind of. I sight-read music but am far from a pianist. Mom had me take lessons but I never had a true musician for instruction. We could only afford a local church organist who usually was over 55 and had a metronome. LOL I was lucky to have that. Still, I Ioved the feel of the keys. I love Chopin. Listz. Rachmaninov. Maybe if there’s a next life. Maybe.
I already own the house I’d dreamed of owning since I was 13, but I would love to have the money to completely renovate it and build a big catio where the back patio used to be.
A cabin in Alaska
A house.
Porsche 911
A telescope.
A house
A Supermarine Spitfire. And a pilot’s license so I can fly it
