I found a small piece of straw in my bathroom sink after the petsitter was in our home alone for a week. It was a regular clear disposable drinking straw, only 1.5″ long, and has black (maybe burn marks?) on one end. I have pics. I can’t remember having anything like this but hopefully it’s just trash that was in the sink for a while and got moldy. I have to be sure bc this person babysits too. This makes me so nervous, perhaps I should require drug tests of all sitters.
Is this drug paraphernalia or just trash? Piece of straw.

Hard to say without actually seeing it
Possibly, possibly not. Cut straws are very commonly used to snort drugs like meth or coke, or in makeshift smoking apparatuses. Straws are also just common in general.
You have photos but you didn’t post them?
Why not?
Maybe used for pushing mascara to the bottom of the tube. I can’t think of any drugs that involve burning plastic except maybe smoking off aluminum foil and getting the straw too close?
What you’re describing sounds like a straw used to inhale burning Fentanyl or Oxy pills off of foil. The end of the straw facing the foil will often melt/ball up a bit and have some carbon/black residue.
Sounds like someone has been chasing some dragons…
A common way of smoking fentanyl and heroin nowadays is to boil it on a spoon or tin foil as they suck the fumes/smoke in through a disposable straw. More common than traditional meth pipes nowadays.
