Is this speeding ticket worth fighting?

r/

I received a speeding ticket by a DPS State Trooper for allegedly going 60 in a 45. I have dashcam footage of the patrol vehicle turning his lights on before he got me on radar to pull me over. I was on a motorcycle if that makes a difference. There was a car in between the patrol car and my motorcycle throughout the video until he got directly behind me to pull me over. I’m 19, but have a spotless record before this ticket. I also have an option to take a defensive driving school to dismiss the ticket, but wanted to know if it’s worth fighting first.

Location: Between San Antonio and Austin Texas.

Can you clarify how you know he started to pull you over before he knew your speed?

Debatable. The courts could side with the cop if they claim that they visually estimated the speed to be significantly over the limit

Cops have lidar and stuff that can automatically detect speed. Certain departments also allow for cops to eyeball speed and then radar or pace you. Honestly I would just take the class and have it taken off the record. The only reason I would consider fighting it is if you have speed detection on your dashcam and can prove its calibrated.
