I struggle pretty heavily with depression, and in the past I’ve tried multiple antidepressants, but I noticed they made me feel very different and the side effects (like lack of focus, bad sleep and concentration etc) were pretty bad for me because I study full time.
Lately though I’ve been smoking pretty often and using it as a coping mechanism, I know it’s not great but I do already go to therapy and sometimes I just need something to get through the really hard days.
Just wondering whether you guys think long term, smoking weed or going back on antidepressants is going to be better?
Is weed or antidepressants gonna be worse for my brain?

I would recommend weed drinks or edibles than smoking, but I will say weed is a better option than antidepressants. The antis can be very strong and have worse side effects than weed like you said.
Honestly, we’re not licensed trained mental health professionals, so take the advice here with a grain of salt…what did your therapist say when you asked them?
I don’t find antidepressants harmful. You may just be thinking too far into it. Swallow the pill and go about your day. I actually think that you thinking too far into it is what is causing you to lose focus. Go about the day and be present. I’m not big on weed but I’m not against it. Maybe you need a hobby to keep you entertained. Personally myself, I got into fountain pens last year. It’s been so rewarding everything that goes into them. There’s the pen itself then different types of nibs and inks/papers. It’s the Bees knees.
