I recently went to collect personal items from a repossessed vehicle waiting to go to auction. Several high value items were missing and it looked like the car had been ransacked (ie glove box emptied onto the floor.) The auction yard claimed no one accessed the vehicle because the didn’t have the key fob to unlock it but there were key blanks next to the gear shift as if someone had been trying to cut a physical key for the ignition. My lender says they can’t release the intake photos of the vehicle without a subpoena. So I have nothing to check to see if any of the items are visible in the vehicle at the time it was brought in. I’m thinking of lawyering up but I don’t know the first step. Advice appreciated .
