A lot of people say your 20s are supposed to be the best years of your life. It’s the time to have fun, figure things out, and live it up. But putting that kind of pressure on people can backfire. If your 20s don’t feel amazing, it’s easy to feel like you’re missing out or doing something wrong.
Expecting your 20s to be the peak years sets a deadline on young people’s happiness, and can make people anxious or disappointed when things don’t go perfectly. It also puts pressure on 20-somethings to go out and “just have fun”, when they rightfully have a hell of a lot to be cautious about. There’s no reason to think that you’ve “missed the boat” on fun experiences. There’s so much of life left to live past your 20s.
