It’s important to have friends who will disagree with you, so they can find gaps in your logic to help you grow.

If you are dating a shitty person, but you can’t see it. And you only have friends who agree with everything you say, then nobody will point it out.
If you are in a cult, but you only hang around people who agree with you on things, then no one will be able to pull you out of it.

If you are stuck in life without the ability to find a way out, then having someone who has a different opinion than you might allow you to see things from a different angle. Hanging around people who just follow and nod their head to everything you say, is bad for your own personal growth.

If someone doesn’t know they’re wrong, then they have no way of knowing they’re wrong until someone gives them a new perspective. If you feel like you’re the smartest person who knows more than everyone else, then you really should be asking yourself if you live in a bubble right now.

This isn’t unpopular. Of course it’s important that you can trust people to tell you the truth.

And disagreement should not naturally be argumentative. It should be truly well meaning and constructive.
