    Doubt it, it’s just easier to animate them to look the same knowing the masks will differentiate them to viewers

    It’s specifically stated as being a marketing tactic. As another commenter mentioned they were all originally red. They changed it so they could sell 4 different action figures with minimal retooling between them.
