I don’t like working with people who complain too much on the job and say stuff like “why should we have to do this? It’s not OUR job” when the boss asks us to do something unusual. 1st of all that attitude just sucks and makes working with you a drag, and 2nd: what makes it our job is that our boss asked us to do it. It’s no different than a friend asking for a favor. Your boss doesn’t need to be your enemy all the time + you’re still on the clock and getting paid to do it. These are usually the same people who think they deserve a pay raise and get all “fuck this place” when they aren’t rewarded

Be thankful complainers exist, because it makes it easier for you to get promoted.
If they didn’t agree to do those things at the beginning, or don’t get any additional benefits, then it is not their jobs. The boss should hire someone else. Of course they will say fuck this place if you force them to do what they are not hired for.
one time when I was working my first retail job at a local grocery store as a stocker my boss had me go outside the store and fill a pothole on the road outside with a bag of quickrete. I didn’t complain to anyone at the store, but it was bullshit. I got paid to stock shelves, not to be told to do the city’s job from my grocery store boss.
So if my boss asks me to do something I’ve never done before, not in my job description, and someone else is being paid 3x as much for it than I am, I still should do it without complaining right?
Sure.
You’re much more likely to receive an increase to your salary and a higher position by moving jobs than you are by sucking up to a boss that will drop you the second it’s convenient. The unfortunate reality of the modern economy is that businesses have completely abandoned any sense of loyalty to their employees but still expect them to go above and beyond their actual contracts based on the false promise of some reward in the future
Kind of a bootlicker take. Employers will do everything in their power to get you to do the most in exchange for the least. Asking you to do more than is required of you and your job duties should be compensated accordingly. Once they realize that you will do more work for the same pay, they’ll expect it. Then they will see how much they can load on you til you break, and then you’ll either be reprimanded or you’ll quit. Then they’ll just hire someone else to do the same thing the next day.
It’s a fine line. If you’re going to delay the job another day because you can’t go slightly out of your way a bit for a few minutes and appreciated, you’re a whiny bitch. If it’s expected daily to cut costs by cheap management then fuck that.
