just want to take a second to express appreciation in my marriage ♡

r/

my husband (36M), and i (34F), have been together 12 years, married for 9. my favorite thing about our marriage is our ability to really allow the other person to be their OWN person. own likes, own downtime, going out to enjoy hobbies, etc. we always root for each other and allow space for growth and individuality, which has been one of the reasons our relationship has been so successful. i’m very grateful.

but most of all, my absolute favorite thing in the entire world…is mornings like right now. where we’re both enjoying morning coffee together, the birds are singing as our back door is open. he’s playing red dead redemption without a headset, so i can hear. i’m peacefully crocheting in the same space near him. both comfortable. both enjoying what we love. both together. that’s truly the intimacy that will never get old to me. i just love this man. and all the little things in our life together 🥺

it truly is the little things.

TL;DR: a random strangers take in a successful marriage that’s had a lot of ups and downs and normal growing pains in their relationship- the little things are the backbone. and taking a second to appreciate them will do wonders for your connection.
