To preface I am not a Drake stan I don’t care about either Drake or KDOT but my opinion comes after Kendrick mocked Drake’s ‘Drop Drop’ ad lib while performing the diss track at the Minnesota concert. Its just clear that Kendrick Lamar cannot let go of this beef or else he risks being culturally irrelevant if he did not focus his Super Bowl performance on Drake, no one would care and it seems this is an unpopular opinion because many people are happy Drake is getting constantly dunked on but its just clear Kendrick cannot continue on without having Drake in his mind

The Super Bowl was like 2 months ago what are you blabbing about?
Kendrick being culturally irrelevant? I-
That is such a weird take for one of the most beloved artist of the past decade and a half.
Now say it without crying.
Kendrick was still massive before the beef lol
Kendrick has been one of the most popular rappers in the world for like 10 years, he doesn’t need beef to be relevant. He’s had a non-Drake song at #1 on the charts for 16 weeks. This is not a well thought out opinion bro
Idk I think not like us is just a widely popular song so he’s gonna always play it. I don’t think he “needs” it. But yeah, why not keep playing it?
Man had a draft ready two months ago and said imma finally get rid of it
Kendrick sounds like a mouse.
In your case buddy “delulu is the solulu’
Kendrick will be culturally relevant just as biggie, Tupac, dre, snoop, etc. Man has legend status
So this is what you sit around and worry about?
They both suck.
Thank you for sharing that you know nothing about Kendrick and how popular he is/has been for over a decade
Kendrick is wildly popular with or without drake. As long as he makes music he will be relevant
You’re talking about the Pulitzer prize winning Kendrick Lamar? The one who had 17 Grammys before the beef? The one has the number one selling tour as a solo rap artist ? The one who maybe GKMC, TPAB and Damn? LMFAO must be a different Kendrick .
You cant say you are not a Drake stan and then fix yourself to make a post without thought
Drake is suing the record label currently.
I’d say he’s the one that can’t let it go.
Do you genuinely believe if Drake won the beef and had that big of numbers for his diss track he wouldn’t perform it after the beef has ended?
Ask yourself would any artist?
Ask yourself, as an event coordinator, would you not request the artist you’re hiring to perform their biggest song that’s a guaranteed crowd pleaser?
Do you see Kendrick still speaking on the beef outside of performing the song?
Now there’s alot I could go on about Kendrick and his hypocrisy so don’t think it’s a picking sides thing. But these are logical questions you should ask yourself on if your opinion has merit or is actually just biased.
But of course this is what this sub is for, so upvote from me
So you’re trying to say “successfully doing things in order to stay relevant” is somehow bad? It’s literally what being famous involves.
Well tbfyour opinion is quite unpopular
Saying kendrick lamar would be CULTURALLY irrelevant without the beef is incredibly delusional. He made albums that are now essentials to rap, and has had and still has a career like few other rappers.
As someone who doesn’t really care about rap at all, agreed. It’s PR
Why did the guy want the other’s beef? How’d he win it? What did he do with it?
I feel like it’s hard to let go of a beef when the other person is literally suing people over it.
Also, as everyone else has had to tell you: Kendrick Lamar was relevant before the beef and isn’t going to stop being relevant just because he won it at the Superbowl of all things. Imagine telling someone they’re not relevant anymore 2 months after they performed at one of the most (the most?) watched television programs ever broadcast.
