My personal opinion. Correct me if I’m wrong, but the main problem people had with the show was that Obi-Wan was old and miserable and kind of like Luke in the sequels or Indiana Jones in the DoD. But the thing was, it made actual sense for him to be that way at that moment of time, considering all that he had lost. He had failed with Anakin, and the Jedi were being hunted down.
But it’s different with him, he got his mojo back on, without anyone like Rey coming and ordering him to be better. He did it by himself, and when he did, it was cool.
I found the whole main story with him and Darth Vader pretty compelling, and that saves the show from being terrible in my eyes. Things like the Empire being incomptent and Reva getting stabbed twice with a lightsaber and surviving certainly take away from the show, but overall the main story was pretty solid.

My main issue was the fact they felt the need to shoe horn in Princess Leia. I’m also not a huge fan of the fact they had him fight Vader again, as I always thought the dialogue from a new hope flowed better for them having last met on mustafa.
My issue with the show is that its very obvious that it was meant to be a movie (which was confirmed).
Totally agree. I loved that it established his relationship with Leia and gave a reason for her to reach out for his help in A New Hope.

Kenobi deserved a decent film, not a limited series of tripe.

It should have just been cut down a feature movie and given a AAA budget for effects and sets, and it would have been great. There are fan edits that convert it into a movie and it is much improved that way.
One of the few starwars shows i really didnt like, and I enjoyed the Acolyte. It was cool the idea to follow a misarable obi wan but the series would have been better without vader or Leila…
I think people that don’t spend all day raging online mostly enjoyed it.
They lost me when the brilliant plan to escape with little Leia was smuggling her under a trenchcoat through a hangar full of guards and force-sensitive villains. That’s some scooby-doo shit
