I’m a dental nurse and I love it. There’s not much advancement, but I don’t take stress home with me and I help people. It’s hard work but it’s honest work.
RE teacher 10 years in; love it. I’ve just applied internally for a job for “Teacher of the deaf”. It would be a massive retrain and two years at uni whilst working full time AND learning BSL to level 3. It’s exciting BUT if someone already qualified applies it’s probably theirs. We will see.
Software engineer/tech competence lead. Absolutely love it. Very empowering to be able to contribute to something that is so dominant in our world right now.
Admin in small business. I would like it more if I didn’t also have to manage client interactions which causes constant interruptions, usually at the worst moments and if procedures were actually followed.
Vocational counselor for a state agency. While I won’t ever “love” a job (I love real life), I like my job a lot, I am really grateful for it. I have autonomy, incredible support, and I love my coworkers and boss. My commute is 4 minutes in a car, I work from home 1 day per week, there are clear work/life boundaries AND they are about to send me to grad school for free. I also truly enjoy getting to talk with and help people of all kinds.
