Yes, and it doesn’t apply to me, not even a little.

We’re not intense, it’s just that everyone else is weirdly cold

If by “intense in love”, you mean sex. I personally don’t care about that stereotype really, is not one that’s harmful but I guess can leave to false expectations.

Yes. The whole Latin Lover stereotype is dumb af

    Yes, it is incredibly cringe.

Yes, it does somewhat apply to me.

Yes, it’s stupid and wrong, I mostly find our romance immature. It’s like the only reason it looks intense is because it is desperate, it’s like no one ever steps back to think before they act. Then they find themselves in a commitment they don’t want, but instead of approaching it like adults they cheat or make it a “tit for tat” relationship, which I think is unnecessary.

We’re not intense. It’s gringos that are unbearably prudish.

It is only generally true because other regions have social norms and behaviors that make them less affectionate. Best case is East Asia, where hugging or even holding hands is a huge deal in Korea/China/Japan (I’ve lived in China for a while so I can tell from experience), but also North America and northern European countries tend to show less affection in general, not only to romantic partners. From this perspective, it does make us sound too “intense in love”, which is a bit cringe, but true in this case.

I’m an introvert aro/ace more than cringe itself it’s disappointing how confident people are with a troupe they’ve seen in a couple of movies to be a reflect of real life.

Meh. I could care less. It’s true to a point. There are worse things to be stereotyped as.

No, but I think the way Europeans and N. Americans repress emotions isn’t healthy.

I think it’s probably true for some, but it’s not exactly as it’s sold to the rest of the world. Even we make fun of “telenovelas” and the stereotype they portray.

In all Latin American countries, you’ll also find people who are completely different from the stereotype.

At least in my case, I think I’m a bit more affectionate than the people I’ve met in other English speaking countries, but the difference isn’t that big.

Yeah. We’re too in love. We’re too happy. If you cringe to it, maybe, just maybe, you’re the ones in need.

Yes it feels cringe, I don’t think we’re intense like some people imagine the stereotype of “Latin lover”, it’s just that we’re not so cold as most are used to
