We live together, I am I have epilepsy and PTSD from childhood abuse. He is abusive and triggered my epilepsy and PTSD so I am planning on leaving. How do I make sure he doesn’t come after me? I am just taking my important stuff and leaving the rest. My best friend is allowing me to stay with her, she’s in a different state. I’m mostly worried he will find us, I’m going to delete my Instagram and any social media and LinkedIn and block his number and everyone I know connected to him. What else can I do? What if this doesn’t work

Make sure to have someone with you, like your friend or family. If you end up suspecting he’s following you or stalking you, report it to the police and dont engage with him. Blocking and deleting social media are already good steps. Has he done anything similar to not letting you leave him or threatened to come after you if you leave him?
You do not respond in any kind, hang up / leave / block him without any word, and if you feel physically threatened, you call the police to deal with him.
Document everything and call the police if he tries to contact you. When you get to your friend’s house connect with a domestic abuse agency and they will give you tools and resources. They’ll also have support groups, take advantage of what they offer, you’re not alone!
Make sure there is no tracking on your phone. No AirTags in the lining of your bags. Call your local women’s shelter and ask for advice. Has he access to your banking? Call the bank to ensure they know he has no rights. I’d visit the local police department and say that you are leaving an abusive partner with a gun that has threatened to kill you. And that you want your statement recorded.
You got this. Hoping to hear a fantastic update in a year. You happy and safe from this bastard.
If you’re in the US, call United way 211. They can refer you to your local women’s shelter. The shelter can help you create a safety and exit plan and address your concerns. You likely could also get a PPO in place.
