Left ovary cramps?

r/

For the past 5 years, I have been getting slight cramping or twinges on my left side during ovulation. So it started at 34, I’m 39 now.

I did get an ultrasound after a year of it happening and nothing abnormal was found. Should I get another one?

I’ve also been wanting a partial hysterectomy, would I be okay with 1 ovary? Has anyone had similar cramps and done any kind of removals to help?

Like Mittelschmerz? I used to get that in my mid-20s and then it disappeared 🤔

It sounds like you are describing mittelschmerz. It is common and happens during ovulation. It has happened occasionally since I was in my 20’s (currently 44). You can talk to your doctor but I don’t know if they would do a hysterectomy for this.

It is called “mittelschmerz” aka ovulation pain. It happens to me often enough to notice. I was told it’s normal but it is unclear why all women don’t experience that during ovulation. But generally no action needs to be taken.

If the pain is really crippling for you, get a second opinion.

This now happens to me every month for the last few years. My anxiety now goes through the roof during ovulation too.

I think it’s normal, I’ve had cramps during ovulation on my right ovary every month since I was 32 or something. They’re less painful latelyÂ
