I was working recently and noticed on the back of a energy drink it says that it’s not recommended for those under eighteen years old. Which made me wonder about the legality. I did a google search and found Bill HB5726 but couldn’t clearly understand some of the legal terminology but it seems to state that’s it’s illegal to sell them to anyone under eighteen in illinois. My Question is am I understanding it correctly because I’m not the only one who just didn’t know and I don’t want to break the state law.

Was introduced as a bill but did not pass.
That bill was introduced in the legislature ten years ago and did not advance further than committee. I think there were some prior attempts to regulate those sales as early as 2013, but none of them became law either.
Your employer could voluntarily decline to sell them to minors, but they are not required to.
