Title sums it up. You hear an album and it’s great! The artist goes on an album tour and releases the same album as a “live concert version.” These tend to sound pretty bad.

A lot of live albums actually sound better than the studio versions
I wouldn’t say bad, but pointless
That’s mainly because they were recorded live at a concert with a bunch of screaming people instead of a recording studio that is set up for optimal sound quality.
K’Naan did it some years back with The Dusty Foot Philosopher. Recently, The Philharmonik has released a lot of live recording.
Disagree because the first time I saw live concert recordings on Spotify of a song I liked, I was blown away by how much better they sound.
Partially because a lot of artists have forgotten that you can do things with live versions. The Grateful Dead mastered live recordings more so than studio ones
The band can record the audio directly from the soundboards and it can sound amazing.
Frampton Comes Alive would like a word
No clue what kind of music you like, but I love dirty old live recordings (boots and official stuff). I was listening to Black Sabbath Lausanne 1970 at work today and couldn’t have been happier.
This is a silly opinion. There are some absolutely incredible live albums.
Some sound not that great, but others sound fantastic.
I miss Borders and their selection of DVD concerts.
I love when they play the songs faster because they’re live, because I like em fast
FKJ has some really good ones.
It depends on the artist. And sometimes it’s nice because they do different variations of songs
Most of them are, but every now and again you get a professional live recording that just hits everything right. whenever I hear a song I like, I try to find a really good live recording of it
OP, we’ve given you quite a playlist here. Are you going to update us after you listen to the recordings?
UFO – Strangers in the Night.
All the songs sound si much better on that live album
Rock in Rio – Iron Maiden would like a word
