Loan companies relentlessly calling me?

r/

Ok so no petty revenge, yet.

I somehow got on the list of a few companies that offer (apparently very high profit) loans.
I am relentlessly called 15, 20, even 30 times a day. I stopped answering my phone. So now my voice mail fills up every day or two.

“My loan has been approved for $40,000 we just need to talk with you to finalize the loan” etc.

What can I do to ruin these companies profits, or to cost them a ton of money? They won’t stop calling and it’s been over 2 months.

An actual example from today:
hi this is Jason from the approval Department I’m reaching out because you’ve been pre-qualified for a debt consolidation loan of $88,000 with estimated monthly payments as low as $410 this is a limited time offer so please call us back at 866-450-xxxx again that number is 866-450-xxxx we look forward to assisting you

If you are in the US, you can do a couple of things. Make sure your cell number is updated on the Do Not Call Registry. That only cuts out some of this, but it does make a small difference. If you answer the phone, stop them and tell them you’ve noted the name of their company and that you need to be removed from their call list right now and if you get another call, you will report them. Then block the number. For text messages, block the numbers. You can go to yelp and leave reviews about how they relentlessly call you unsolicited and they are predators.

Report the numbers to your cellphone provider as predators. Text 7726

Have you considered someone is taking revenge on you. You piss someone off and this is a good way to get back at you

I know a lot of people have to answer their phones if they use it for business but if you don’t, don’t answer and block numbers. When you answer your number is flagged by them as active and will bundle and sell your number as leads to other telemarketers. You’ll get more and more calls then.
I don’t get a lot of telemarketers/scammers because I won’t answer the phone unless they’re on my contact list. If it’s something important they’ll leave a message and I’ll call back. I’ve been on the Do Not Call List for several years and that hasn’t stopped them. Ignoring them does.
