TL;DR, my partner (33M) and I (32F) have been dating for fourth months—he was just relocated to Australia for 90 days for his tech job which certainly threw a wrench in our relationship developing emotionally (he was stressed about the move before leaving, understandably).
We talk everyday, and I’m going to visit in September but he is not someone who expresses his feelings through words of affirmation, which is a key love language for me. He loves spending time with me and shows how much he cares through action, but I’m lacking the verbal confirmation of his feelings for me in clear words and statements.
He’s moving back to our city in the late fall and I want to keep developing our relationship—how can I bring this up when I visit / how can we meet in the middle with our love languages?

“I miss you, and I think you miss me too but it would be nice to hear it sometimes”
Don’t need to make a big deal about it. Bring it up in the spirit of collaboration and wanting to communicate better across distances.
