LPT: Increase your memory for lists of objects, e.g. shopping lists…

r/

Have to remember 2 (or more) things? Imagine them interacting with each other. Got to buy pens and handwash? Imagine the pens dipped in handwash. Imagine the gloopiness: the inconvenience etc. There: you’ve remembered it.

The weirder the mental image, the harder it is to forget.

Wtf is handwash? Like hand soap? Where do they call it handwash?

Yeah this kind of associative memory trick actually works weirdly well! I’ve done it with people’s names too, like if someone’s name is Rose and they’re wearing red, I’ll just imagine a literal rose blooming on their shoulder or something. The more ridiculous the image, the better it sticks.
