Just a cool name, but that doesn’t take away his level of power. Loki ultimately has full control over all universes timelines. He can end a story early, or even sway the events of a whole multiverse. We don’t know how much fine control he has, but he’s a god with unlimited time to figure out how to wield it.

If Deadpool has the superpower of being able to know he’s in a comic book, God of Stories Loki’s superpower is that he is the writer of the comic book.

He’s not really been officially called the “God of Stories” in the MCU proper. However, the MCU Loki series (especially the first season) draws heavily on the imagery around Loki after 2015’s Secret Wars series, a period where he redefined himself not as an evil god of lies, but as a god of stories able to shape narratives.

Fans have coined what Loki became at the end of Loki S2 as becoming that God of Stories, if in a different way, as by holding the various branches of the Loom and keeping them alive, telling their stories, bound into Yggdrasil, he now is able to shape and hold the lives and narratives of untold numbers of universes in his hands.
