[MCU] Why are there so many aliens that look indistinguishable from humans?

r/

So, I believe any MCU story that doesn’t take place on earth always has aliens that literally look human. Not humanoid. Human. In fact, the entire population of Asgard all look just like regular human folks. The collector and the grandmaster. The people of Xandar.

How come there are so many humans scattered across space in the MCU? I understand that the Celestials have something to do with that, but 1) That’s in the comics, 2) I think even they didn’t make them all literally identical, rather simply humanoid.

The Celestial approach could be a good answer, at least for the basic humanoid shape with 4 members and standing on foot.

However, how it stretches to exactly human-likes appearances…

It’s unclear how many paths to sentient species exist.  Evolution tried non -mirror image creatures and it didn’t stick.  I’m not sure how many paths to land creatures exist, but it doesn’t seem unlimited.   Then proto dinosaur took over.  No sentient species.  They were very adaptable and more or less became close to the only type of land creatures.   Eventually dinosaur evolved, and they took over.  No sentient species.

Finally mammals became commonplace.   And humans came from that.

Arguably to be sentient bipedal is required for easy use of tools, and vocal breadth is also required.

That limits the species pretty far down.

So if there is sentient alien life out there there is close to 100% chance that there is essentially human alien life.

I mean at least with asgardians that could be influenced by their mystical natures. perhaps for some reason gods tend toward human shapes?

At least with loki it makes sense because he’s a shapeshifter and chooses to look like that.
