Adding further context on this. I am currently 23 M and don’t plan on settling down and have chosen to remain independent, possibly forever. I had a few questions which came to my mind, which I hope can be answered by other members of this sub on the same boat and was seeking the wisdom of the people here 🙂 (I’m from India if it’s relevant)
- Do you still have an active social circle at 30, considering all your other friends have settled down?
- Have you ever regretted this decision? If yes, what was the number one cause of this?
- What things would you have done in your early 20s so that you could get conditioned for this life in your 30s?
Please feel free to add anything else you guys have to share, and why you decided to be single, things I should know etc.

My social circle is active and mostly guys like me. All single forever so we have each other’s backs. Im not sure regret is the right word, but the world isn’t fair and some people just don’t get the white Pickett fence. If I had to do 1 thing in my 20s it would be to reincarnate as a 7 foot guy into a rich family with a 13 inch dick and perfect genetics.

I don’t think a lot of men are single by choice per se. Perhaps if they’ve had some trauma from a past relationship, but I’m not sure if that is the context of this question. I’m single, and I wouldn’t say it was a choice as much as it is fate. In that sense there’s nothing to regret, I shot my shots and didn’t really have notable success. I can’t regret not having a career in the NBA, when I was never in the running.
My journey has been one of acceptance and recalibration. I would suggest that you need to cultivate good distractions, whether those are hobbies or financial interests etc…you will have time to fill Vs your peers with families. You will have the opportunity to build yourself and your future should you wish it, so try to do that.
