Allow me to share with you my Midnight Spaghetti recipe. I call it that because it’s the perfect thing to make after a late night out, or when you’re just really tired and are feeling lazy.
You take a fairly big bowl, the kind you’d make a salad in, and in that bowl you put 1-2 Tbsp. of butter (or more if you want), another 2 Tbsp. of EVOO, 3-4 raw garlic cloves lightly smashed (i.e. still mostly intact), a liberal sprinkle of salt and black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes to taste. Rotate the bowl lightly in your hands so the garlic and seasoning mixes with the oil and it spreads all around the bowl’s interior. Cook 8 oz. of the long pasta of your choice (i.e. spaghetti, tagliatelle etc.) and when it’s al dente remove the pasta with tongs and place it directly in the bowl. Add maybe another 1-2 Tbsp. of pasta water, along with another sprinkle of S&P, and toss lightly with the tongs until the butter has melted and everything is evenly distributed. Discard the garlic, as it will still be quite raw, and serve with some grated pecorino romano. You might be thinking, ‘wow, that sounds REALLY garlicky,’ and you’d be correct, but so long as you don’t eat the cloves themselves the natural oils of the garlic should flavor the dish perfectly. It will have more zip than your standard Aglio e Olio, and without the added step/cleanup of using a frying pan. If you’re feeling ambitious, some chopped parsley, a chiffonade of fresh basil, and/or some fresh lemon zest will take this pasta to the next level. Enjoy!
It’s what I cook every single day, throw some frozen chicken tendies and French fries into the air fryer. It’s just me, I’m not putting effort into cooking
I will buy “mass gainer” protein powder and take half a serving and throw in another scoop of just protein powder so it’s essentially a meal replacement shake high in protein with some carbs. Also add in frozen berries and whatever other supplements you want (mushroom powder, fiber, collagen, etc.) tastes so good and is really filling.
Just pasta with a jar of sauce. I do the pasta in the instant pot so I don’t have to tend to a pot, just dump and go. Just dump in 1 tbsp butter, a tablespoon of bullion, 4 cups water, 1 pound pasta and a stir. Come back 30 mins later and dump on the jar of sauce and stir.
A salmon filet with half the juice of a lemon (I use ghee to sauté salmon) on a bed of buttered rice with a bag of frozen vegetables. Prep & cooking time is 20 minutes
If not a frozen microwave meal, I’ll just scramble an egg and cook it in the microwave (takes like 50s at 60% power for 1 egg here) with some salt pepper & garlic powder and throw it on a toasted bagel. Hot meal in 1-2mins if you’re quick
Meat, cheese and eggs are, understandably, recurring themes- all equally delicious. How about when a woman cooks for you? What do you like? If I offered you an avocado, baby spinach and shallot salad would you be interested?
