Men who have been ostracized from a community for something they did, what kept you going?

r/

How did you get through the difficult months?

If you had no one to talk to and very limited support system, how did you manage?

What advice would you give to others going through this?

When everyone you loved abandoned you, what kept you going? How did you not give up?

I just solider on with my life and did me.

Played my video games, went on walks and bike rides, got out of town for a bit on a nice drive. Journaling was a nice addition

    Advice I give:

    It will pass

What kept me going was in the end, it’s all how you handle the situation. Yeah, I could have blow it up and got into a shouting match but why waste my time with it and just walk away.

    Gotta be better.

When I was 16, I dated this chick from my friend group and she cheated on me with another dude from that friend group and basically they spread lies about me cheating on her, being verbally abusive etc..

It was a hard situation for a teenager to go through, I used the time I had to work more hours, to work out more, I also started to learn how to cook.

After a few months I had a new friend group and thats it. Recently (almost a decade after it) one of my friends heard about it and told me he started laughing from those allegations as he knows me.

I don’t really care about it anymore obviously, I reconnected with the friend she cheated on me with, he made amends. Nice dude, was a dumb teen and went through his own struggles.

I’ve been blacklisted from a community awhile ago
While it wasn’t for anything I was accused of saying something transphobic when I wasn’t around to defend or explain ( looking back on that time I was undiagnosed unmedicated dealing with depression and the other party was a cult of personality type)
When a major incident happened I got accused of defending the scumbag in court .
Even though I heard the same time as everyone else I looked through every social media post I ever made and always supported the victim even went to the sentencing and supported the victim in court .
First Spite Nothing can keep you going like knowing that the people that actively hate you suffer knowing you are still going
And doing good regardless no matter what happens doing the right thing
