Au de Kerosene and sometimes L’Gaso-Lin. If i’m fancy I’ll wear Au Vang Kaliner.
Versace eros walking around the mall.
Louie Vuitton “Imagination”
Most often when it’s enough for my wife to comment on, it’s been my natural smell that perks her interest. My pheromones mixed with a light spray of cologne makes me smell delicious…her words
Issey Miyake Wood & Wood, very subtle but beautiful smell 👌
Wearing as in products for smell?
No cologne, just a specific brand and scent of body wash, with this scrubby stuff, then moisturize with lotion of the same scent as the body wash arms and legs also neck and chest if I know I ain’t getting kissed, and always leave the used dryer sheets with my clothes even when stored, not always but most of the time or I’m just letting the clean clothes sit in a basket with the used dryer sheets still with them,
In the garden gettin all hot and sweaty!
Just regular deodorant with no distinct smell.
When you don’t smell like anything, you smell nice because you smell like you.
I have a skin condition that means I have to be careful what I put on my skin. I’ve used fragrance-free soap and moisturisers all my life. I’m not a naturally smelly person, fortunately, but I never got compliments. I used to get self conscious and occasionally use fragrances soaps at the detriment to my skin (and the smell never even lasted).
Recently I’ve started using cologne or eau de parfum or whatever you call it. I use The Essence Vault, but just because they were advertised and on sale. I do get compliments now, which feels nice, but most importantly I don’t feel self conscious about using the skin/soap products that actually help my skin.
Most important factor as far as I can tell is being in shape. When you are reasonably in shape and have a good diet, that obviously comes through in how you smell as well, but if you eat 5 pounds of BBQ drowned spare ribs a day – expect to smell like bacon. There even where some experiment where women were asked to rate smells of men and it turned out that in shape men got better rankings, despite women only being able to smell the shirts and never being shown who exactly wore them.
So what you wear is not really relevant as long as it can carry your scent. Its more about WHO wears it.
I guess there have been some fragrances that women like more than others, but I dont think that talking about the cherry is irrelevant as long as the cake is missing.
My $20 Nautical Voyage gets complimented frequently. My Spice Bomb not so much.
Just Irish Spring soap used in the shower .
Was wearing Dior, went to greet wife’s friend with kiss/hug and she said “You smell very nice”.
Tam Dao decant
My man wears Dior sauvage and I go head over heels for him!
Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male- everyone know this . Ysl l’homme , top choice . RL Blue -soft and clean smell . Gucci guilty -this one is a must have it changes through the day . I dont like any that are sharp or over powering. 1 how do you do no more , never any more than 1 spray under the shirt , Never on top of the clothes it’s completely out of the question.
I farted
I was sitting on an airplane. I was wearing nothing extra. Just old spice deodorant/antiperspirant. I applied it hours ago.
I was heading to the bar during the summer rising a long board. I was out of the shower barely 20 min before but I was seating profusely. Like clothes completely damp / wet.
I said hi to a female friend who greeted me and she told me I smelled so good, she did not let me go for a solid minute. It was weird.
I get this comment a lot from women which is funny cuz I don’t do anything special. I shower everyday and wear some standard deodorant. Guess I just have a natural smell women like.
My shower gel and an attar called givenchy. Anyone i talked to would ask me “what you are applying, smells great”

No lie (more than once by more than one woman):
Sweat, Gasoline and Sawdust from cutting wood.
Another time by another woman:
Dior – Sauvage (not so nice: she kissed me and hugged me and grabbed me unconsented)
Was just walking to the store after waking up probs smelled of sweat but ye girl told me I smell nice now im cursed to think if I should ever shover agen or never do it.
Women’s shampoo and Lush body wash, sprayed over with a masculine aftershave Mont Blanc or Dior Savage
My wife told me earlier this week after wrestling other sweaty men for an hour, so I guess the smell of other dudes?
Penhaligon’s Quercus
I wear Dove’s men+care Extra Fresh deodorant and people always compliment it/ask what kind of cologne it is.
I just put a lot on 🤷🏽♂️
Wearing Acqua di gio by armani!
Palmers Cocoa Butter lotion (the one with the white and blue logo). A clerk told me that it smells good. I started to wear it more and I need to buy more I’m almost out lol
I also think the Palmers brown coconut butter version smells great too.
Edit: Oh, also this discontinued Dove Men’s Bottle of body wash that came in a combo pack box. It came in a white bottle and had purple liquid. Got it for Christmas a decade ago and a relative complimented it. I’m sad I can’t buy it anymore though I’ve been looking everywhere for it.
Walking by, no cologne. Women have a weak pickup game. 💀
Some Nivea deodorant, plain lotion and the Perfume line of Antonio Banderas called Black.
Rexona original, sweat, dust, and hand rolled cigarettes
Shower daily with Dove and a spray of Savauge
Oh man, I love when I get this question.
I’m lucky. I get it from my father. He doesn’t sweat. He just doesn’t. Like full on sweat. Even in the hot summers, working outside. When he does he smells almost sweet. Never used deodorant or cologne.
I sweat. But not a lot and only on my head and neck area.
Barley use deodorant. Never used cologne.
So when I get asked what I am wearing, I smile and say, “Oh, that’s just me.” (Now some times it is because I just did laundry and my clothes smell fresh and clean)
Usually followed by them leaning in and inhaling again. With a nod and a smile from them.
My son(21) was not blessed with this natural ability. He is offensive to the sense of smell on a war crime level. Ha!
I sweat like a motherfucker but keep myself clean. My cologne is so fucking cheap and no one knows it. Ever since I started using the cheap one I’ve been getting so many compliments. I think it’s about finding a fragrance that gels well with your natural scent.
Stronger with You – Armani
Grade 9? I was wearing Lynx Africa.
Banana republic’s tobacco and tonka bean gets the best response.
I was wearing Fierce by Abercrombie & Fitch, while having previously showered with Dirty Springwash from Lush (so that scent would’ve lingered a bit too)
Thierry Mugler
At a car boot sale browsing one seller’s table of items, heard the lady next to me compliment the lady selling the stuff on how nice she smelt and asking what perfume it was. The other lady replied it must be someone else as she wasn’t wearing any perfume…. I turned to her and it’s probably mine that she can smell and she just laughed it off like I was bantering 😂 invited her to sniff my collar and right enough it was mine that she was talking about
Nice smelling moisturiser with deodorant.
My favorite cologne – Thigh Master
Just a simple Diesel fragrance
Last time I remember it we had been out riding then come into town for lunch and the waitress dropped it on me, thankfully while my gf was in the bathroom. It was a surprise as it’s hot here. I think it was because of the scent of horses and the molasses tea I’d made for them which has quite a strong sweet scent and she was definitely a country girl.
I was wearing pants and a T-shirt and I was shopping groceries.
I hope that helps
Nothing much beyond showered and put on cologne
Half the time I’ve gotten the question, it was my cologne that got them asking. It’s not a fancy cologne. The first time I bought it (when I had a first date coming up and needed a new cologne because the only cologne I owned at the moment was a bottle an ex had given me, and wearing an ex’s gift anymore now that I met someone new seemed weird), I basically randomly picked an affordable bottle in the cologne aisle of a Walgreens or similar pharmacy. (Actually it was one of those gift sets they sell around Christmas for people who run into a pharmacy for a last-minute gift for someone they don’t care about.) Since then, I’ve never noticed it in a store ever again, so I always have to order new bottles online when I run out. So I gather it must not be a very common scent and that’s probably why I get asked.
The other half of the time when I get asked, it’s because I have a habit of buying shower products that smell like sweet things. My normal everyday body wash is a pretty plain Neutrogena thing, but when I feel like changing it up or on a weekend, I’ll use one of my sweet-smelling ones instead. One’s honey. One is brown sugar. I had a bottle of something that was hemp and cacao, and it smelled like an Almond Joy candy bar to my nose. I mean, look, I figure it can’t hurt to smell like things people want to put in their mouths, right?
Chanel allure sport. Random women will literally stop me to tell me.
The last time, it was just my regular deodorant stick. The person who said it hugged me and started telling me how I had a comfort smell for them, like family, that helped them feel safe and reassured.
Once it was because I was trialing a cologne someone got for me, but most times it was just because someone felt comfortable around me.
I get that compliment about 2-3 times a month!
These are 5 summer favorites:
The Matcha26 – Le Labo
Beau de Jour – Tom Ford
Hanae Mori – Hanae Mori
Le Male – Jean Paul Gaultier
Euphoria Intense – Calvin Klein
Generally I’m hosting clients and other guests would stop me and ask what I’m wearing.
After shave, i go for the stuff that i get from my barbershop. Pinaud Clubman. it’s dirt cheap, but it ALWAYS gets attention, i get asked all the time because it reminds them of their dad. Good or bad it starts a conversation. I have tried all of that expensive fluff, but this is the way in.
My wife makes me beard oil with patchouli, sandlewood and cedar. I was born without a sense of smell, so I trust that it’s nice. I’ve got a lot of compliments on it.
Dolce & gabbana – the one
I make a beard oil with lavender, cedarwood and jojoba oils. I get a lot of compliments on how good I smell.
Drakkar Noir – never stopped wearing it but it seems to be making a little comeback as people have called it out recently.
Clinique happy for men
YSL- Y EDP
Prada – L’Homme Intense
Nishane – Hacivat
Armani – ADG Profondo
Mancera – Cedrat Boise
I was using a lot of deodorant
Elysees Woods
Ballsack
Sausage or just me.
Este Lauder- Pleasures for men
I wear “secret” deodorant because it works best and my wife buys me whatever cologne she likes. I don’t argue and follow orders.
Bleu de chanel edp
BOD Man
Boss Bottled Absolu
Pheromones in deodorant.
Various colognes and fragrances or nothing at all. But usually it happens after a modest amount of physical activity.
One time with no cologne, just your average deodorant that I had put on in the morning, early… Spent an afternoon walking around town and then went to an art gallery. The Gallery owner was following me around, closer and closer. I was expecting her to tell me that I wasn’t dressed right or that she suspected me of stealing something.
Finally she stopped me and very obviously inhaled me. She told me she was married so it wasn’t going to go any further but that I smelled like a former lover of hers from her distant pre-marriage past. She asked if I would give her a hug. It was weird, but I obliged and I swear she quivered out a tiny orgasm.
Then she pushed me back and said we couldn’t continue and she had to restrain herself.
Uh? What? That hug apparently went waaaaay further for he than I ever guessed it would and now I felt guilty for agreeing to a simple hug.
I use a leave in conditioner called Super Milk from Lush in the UK. I constantly get people saying it smells nice in here then go through a full argument about how its my hair, yes, that smell, yes, that one which smells like syrup.
Curve
it’s always curve
I have Aventus and plenty other expensive colognes
But Curve is always the one women mention
Honestly, I use Axe Apollo (body spray, deodorant and body wash). I know how much people clown on the brand, but I have used it for quite a few years now and have gotten a fair number of compliments. I dig the scent, my wife digs the scent and I stand by it
The undisputed most frequently commented on fragrance I’ve ever worn is Avons Black Suede Talcum Powder. It smells awesome, you feel handsome putting it on and even more of a player when random coworkers and friends comment on how nice your fragrance is.
Several women loved some of the Iso E super based perfumes I use. Especially the ones who tend to be oversensitive to perfumes.
I use Escentric Molecule 03 for example use it in combination with a synthetic and natural vetiver and a couple of essential oils.
It enhances your natural smell and is a mix of woody, citrussy and spicy.
Those that love it adore it, those that don’t think it smells. 😂
I also want to give their Ginger version and their Black tea version a try again some time. Loved the finger one on myself.
In combination with my beard oil some have said I smell like black tea, in a good way. I should really start wearing it more often.
Nothing at all. My whole life women have told me that I smell amazing. I don’t wear cologne. I think it has something to do with my natural body smell or pheromones or something.
The irony is that I’m gay. So, it’s kind of awkward 😬 for me when they say that to me. And it is a common occurrence. Has been ever since puberty.
Versace Eau Fraiche
My best friends wife’s mother, who I’ve known for years but have had limited interactions with (just graduations, weddings , etc), hugged me the other day to say goodbye after my buddies graduation. and in the most Texas southern accent goes, “you smell, good! You smell clean!”
It was cologne
I was lying back in a dental chair, and she was cleaning my teeth. I was wearing a knock-off of some fancy Johnny Depp cologne. She said, “OMG, you smell so good.” Then blushed and said I am sorry. Then I told her what it was.
Honestly, womens basic body mist. VS or B&BW. Mens cologne/perfume are too strong on my nose 🙁
Usually it’s Old Spice Swagger deodorant.
Sometimes it happens when I’m grilling or using the smoker, because I smell delicious.
Cremo Palo Santo beard wash, conditioner, and body wash. No cologne.
After sixty years of life and trying countless grooming products, only Replica Jazz Club has reliably engendered “you smell nice” comments.

Someone once spilled vanilla vodka on my jacket at a party. From someone walking by me to line ups at the grocery store and bank tellers (this was awhile ago). I’ ve nvr had a response as great as that to any scent or Cologne.
