Senior program manager at NASA. I run compliance/audit projects across all of my home center. I know how the entire center operates from proposals to employee assistance.
Intensivist. I worked 100 hour weeks during Covid as a Locums doc and the money was well over my salary at any hospital. I started my own Telehealth triage company recently and it’s fully remote. Working from home is such an advantage
I earn 150k a year working in finance, and 250k a year from operating a family beef ranch. My wife is a psychiatrist, who makes 250k a year from her practice. We pay a lot in taxes. :p
Was in data communications for over a decade and needed to learn networking to be able to troubleshoot my own applications without relying on someone else. Got quite good at it and preferred it.
Got Cisco Ccent certified, then got a CCNA, then CCNP….
Salaries vary depending on your specialty [wireless, voice, security, route/switch], but starting pay is usually close to $80-$100k with a cert. Get more certs, become more flexible, more valuable. Almost 15yrs in now and make close to $200k. As a higher level engineer I’m rarely on call or work weekends, also work from home 90% of the time. It’s a good gig, highly recommend looking in to it.
Lower management at a utility in a VHCOL area of the US. I don’t particularly like my job but Im not sure Id easily find a similar salary somewhere else. 150-160k/yr
I’m a senior systems engineer for a defense firm, building a destroyer ship. Currently making ~$90/hr, working full time as a contractor.
I don’t really know what I’m doing but I haven’t been fired yet and they just renewed my contract for another 6 months. Will be hitting 4 years this November!
Engineering consulting for the life sciences. Nice gig, but the life sciences haven’t been doing well for a couple years. I’ve been mentally preparing for unemployment for a very long time.
I don’t take a paycheque anymore but I was around 100k CAD 3/4 years ago, had been offered 50+ an hour plus benefits but turned it down back then, electrician/ refrigeration mechanic.
Depends where in the world you’re asking about 100k – 100k in USD? Probably good. 100k in Australia? Barely liveable and is currently the median/average salary for a single person in the country.
