Mexicans: are there any stereotypes associated with Saltillo or the region around it?

r/

Recently a bank in Mexico opened up an account for a Saltillo, Coahuila resident using my e-mail address, due to a typo, and now I’m getting daily updates on his financial life. I’m trying to imagine a guy but I don’t know anything about the region so I have nothing to work with. Appreciate any info, thanks

Saltillo and Coahuila in general fall under the general “norteño” stereotypes. They speak aggressively, they’re loud, they like carne asada, and they think they’re rich. From the little I’ve interacted with people from Coahuila, they’re not as obnoxious as people from Sinaloa, Nuevo León or Baja California.

I wish we limited country-specific questions to country-specific subs.

Guy is spending all his money in carne asada and beer

Saltillo has a reputation for being boring. People from there often claim Monterrey, they move there, or commute there for work, since it’s just about an hour’s drive away. Even though it’s in a different state.
