If you’re in the U.S., don’t resign. You’ll have a better chance of receiving unemployment benefits if you’re terminated. Look for another job in the meantime.
Start clearing out any personal items in your work area now. Then when they drop the hammer you just get up and walk out. They might freak out and say you need to do an exit interview, but just keep walking.
Line something else up and figure out if you are better off quitting preemptively. I also quit before I knew I was probably going to be fired and it was the better move for me.
You’ll be rid of the stress that’s been consuming you over whether you will or won’t. Regardless of your reasons for getting for fired, this is not the job for you and it’s better to get out. I am recruiter and certain companies can destroy your well being and happiness. Apply for unemployment as soon as it happens (and look for jobs in the meantime) do not take a job because you’re worried about looking unemployed or are panicked. Take your time to make sure it’s the right fit. I’m sorry, it’s so upsetting to be in this situation but I will soon end and you’ll have better options and better well being
As someone who recently got let go, let it happen and don’t quit. I went in wanting to quit and wound up getting let go (malicious compliance via money and tasks on my part, I’m not working harder for no pay that reflects my work) and I can collect the employment benefits I’ve been paying into for years while looking for a job that suits me better! Takes the intense rush off of looking for a better job
It’s taking 6 months to 2 years for people to find new jobs right now. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen. It’s going to get even worse for the foreseeable future.
Don’t quit, stay as long as you can until you can land a new job.
Don’t turn down the exit interview. Explain in your exit interview why you feel that the company must improve its training system so that people won’t be doing the same mistake as you did
Idk why but whenever I feel like this I start dressing nicer and putting in more effort into myself to make myself feel better and empowered. Last time I was let go from a job I went home and watched Deadpool because I enjoy it and it puts me in a kick-butt mood. Also my ex helped me destroy my company t-shirt. lol 😂
Save anything that might be useful for your termination or work portfolio. Once you are fired, you won’t have login access to databases or emails.
Forward yourself any emails that might be helpful in any legal dispute regarding your employment. Save any work that can used for your portfolio or ability to demonstrate your skillset.
I got a written warning a few weeks ago and looking for a new job now. Had to have a disciplinary hearing and it was really stressful. Sooner I’m out of there the better.
Most employers only put start and end dates on references.
I’ve heard advice before recommending against giving optional exit interviews, saying that you may only be potentially giving them ammo to use against you later. I skipped giving one the last time I left a job, but opinions may vary on this.
When you do get fired, do not sign anything HR gives you without thoroughly reviewing it. Remember, it is negotiable! Better yet, consult a lawyer about negotiating your severance package. Initial consultation is generally free.
If there is any documentation in your possession pertaining to sales increases, HR papers, interoffice emails, that you need to save your ass or help you get a better job afterwards? Do it immediately.
In between, keep your mouth shut. Your thoughts, feelings, opinions, conspiracy theories, Hush.
If they fire you, on that day, shake their hand and say. “Thank you for the opportunity.” without explanation. Leave with your head held high.
best advice i got when i was in your position: if you’re let go, apply for unemployment immediately. (and yes you might be eligible even if you’re fired – depends on what state you’re in.) unemployment benefits take a long time to get approved and start paying out.

Start looking for a job now if you haven’t. It’s easier to find a job when you’re employed then when you aren’t.

You should be applying for jobs now.

Fuck em! No but on to serious business, I agree with the comments saying to start looking for another job now.
