My mother in law has ruined our relationship by a million subtle and sometimes not so subtle cuts of passive aggression over the past 25 years. My husband has known this all along yet he NEVER stands up for me with my MIL or anyone else in the family. I can’t describe the resentment, betrayal and pain I feel towards my husband now. It is making me hate him. I don’t know what to do or honestly how to be ok anymore.

He has spent years proving to you that your feelings will never be more important than MIL, and you will always come last. Actions prove who someone is, words prove who they pretend to be.
