MIL interfers in the kitchen

r/

So my MIL stays with us. She came to stay with us when I was pregnant and was in third trimester. I am married for 12 years and have 3 year old kid. We were a happy couple before MIL came to stay with us. Anyway, long story short, my sister in law came to our place for a couple of days. And whenever my MIL daughters come ( she has 2 daughters), my MIL behaves oddly. She treats them like a baby, taking care of their food, bedding, clothes. It’s embarrassing. Btw, they are 50+ and have grown up kids.

Everytime when any of her side of family comes, MIL gets in the kitchen and cooks something or decides the menu or the asks our private cook to prepare meal as her daughters wishes or her wishes- which I am not very comfortable with. This is my household, my kitchen. I manage everything. I decide what gets cooked, I get the groceries, I manage the househelps. And I have been doing this for 12 years. She needs to understand the boundaries. She needs to ask me or discuss with before deciding to cook something for the entire family. I know what my toddler eats and we have certain eating habits. I am not ok if someone messes that up without discussing with me first.
So when I told her the above – she responded she is a mother and she feels like feeding her daughters favourite things when they come to meet. Why should anyone have a problem with that.
My husband pacified my MIL saying “my wife doesn’t understand that emotion so don’t cook without discussing with her first.”

I am overreacting?
