But no, they act like its nothing! “Oh bats dont bite. Its just small bat.” But she is not even sure if she got bitten or not but i think it is very likely as her dress was short, legs exposed, arms exposed, bat super closely and possibly in contact with her skin and you cant necessary see bat bite, or feel it.
And she did have something that could have been bitemarks.
I got furious and yelled that tomorrow morning AT LEAST they should go to doctor. Dad got mad and said hes going nowhere and we can take taxi or some shit

Sure, we do live in technically “rabies free” country but BATS still are found to carry rabies. It is just very rare to see bats or be in contact with them. It is adviced to go to doctor asap if u suspect getting bitten. Only couple years ago in town close by, bat flew against woman and only maybe scracthed her and doctor still saw it important to administer shots.

I am desperate. I got my sister to call mom also and talk sense to her. Now also i begged them to do so, and they just got mad at me and “i dont want to discuss it no more.” (Well not much to discuss if you die of fucking rabies!) What the hell. What the hell. No one cares what im saying!
Uh, dude seriously?! If she’s possibly dealing with a bat bite, that’s legit no joke, rabies or not. Call me paranoid, but better safe than RIP tbh. Get her to a doc stat! This ain’t some RPG where a bat bite gives superpowers… smh 😒 I’d def confront them again and stand your ground, health > pride. Stay strong 💪!
Less and less people are actually opting to go to hospitals or see doctors at this time so this isn’t shocking, at a certain point you have to realize you care more than she does and that’s no longer your problem.
Can you schedule a teledoc appt for her, then they can have a doctor tell them to go to the hospital?

I think it depends on where you live. For example I am in the uk and I don’t remember seeing any guidance from the NHS regarding bat contact. I’m going to go and investigate.

Fuuuuuck that. Even just BRUSHING against a bat would warrant rabies shots. If they contracted it, then the moment they start showing symptoms it’s too late. Sorry you’re dealing with irrational parents.

Rabies is basically 100% fatal and an awful, painful way to die so idk why your parents are being so flippant about this.
There are also other communicable diseases from bats as well.
It’s terrible, but your parents are adults and if they don’t see the risk in the situation there’s not much you can do.
The only thing I can think of that may help sway them is to frame it as for YOU. They may think it’s not a big deal so it shouldn’t be a problem to do this as a favor for you and your peace of mind. You love your mom and you don’t want to lose her. I hope that helps.

In my area there are rabid bats. Please force her to go. I promise the dr is going to put her on meds. She only has a small window to survive. DO IT NOW!
My friend was bitten by a bat and even though they can’t confirm it was rabid she ended up with the rabies shots. Better that then dead.
Bats are the leading cause of human rabies deaths in the US.
They’re older and refusing medical care. Are either of both of them showing other symptoms of cognitive decline? Do they need help accessing elder care services?
